Richard’s Heart Stopped.
Strangers Stepped Up.
A Mission Was Born.
In 2024, Richard, a beloved member of the Rotary Club of North Fulton, was playing a friendly game of pickleball when he suddenly collapsed on the court. No warning. No time to prepare. His heart had stopped.
But he wasn’t alone.
On the next court over, a player trained in CPR rushed to his side and began chest compressions without hesitation. Another player sprinted to grab the AED—just 40 feet away. They placed the pads on Richard’s chest. One shock. Then another. And then… his heart started beating again.
Richard survived. Because someone knew what to do. Because the right tools were nearby. Because people acted.
That day changed all of us.
It’s the reason our Rotary Club of North Fulton launched a powerful initiative:
to train 1,000 people in CPR in just 12 months.
Because when cardiac arrest strikes, it’s not just about statistics. It’s about saving someone’s father, friend, teammate—someone like Richard.
